Kanye West has pulled out of the MTV Video Music Awards at the 11th hour.*

The Gold Digger rapper, 35, cancelled his appearance after deciding he didn't want to attend tonight's ceremony in Los Angeles without his girlfriend Kim Kardashian by his side.

A source tells Mail Online: 'Kim's in New York for her fragrance launch and Kanye didn't want to go to the VMAs if she couldn't be there.'

Kayne's song Mercy featuring Pusha T, Big Sean & 2 Chainz is up for Best Hip-Hop Video and Best Editing. He was not scheduled to perform.

Kanye famously made headlines at the Video Music Awards in 2009 when he interrupted Taylor Swift’s speech, after she won the award for Best Female Video, to insist Beyonce Knowles should have won.

Earlier this week, this year's host Kevin Hart threatened to put a seat-belt on Kanye so he didn't storm the stage again.

Kim and Kanye have been almost inseparable since they began dating six months and on The View yesterday she described him as her 'perfect match'.

She also revealed she's eager to start a family, saying she 'definitely' sees children in her future.

I never seen that before normally you win and dont go up and they announce you couldnt make it or you do a pre taped acceptance. I find this hard to believe...not that Kanye wouldn't simp that hard or anything...but that Kim would miss the chance to show up to the VMA's with Kanye, under pretty much any circumstance...for a professional attention whore in a thinly veiled "hey look at us world" publicity relationship with another attention whore, the VMA's is kinda like the superbowl...they've been airing the little vingettes with those 2 and Kevin Hart for weeks, and would be sitting front row and most likely some kind of little bit they'd do during the show...she'd give that up for a standard perfume promotion appearance? I'm calling shenanigans
