I feel like backwards compatibility is all but confirmed. They would completely diarrhea shyt all over consumers if they make everyone buy those games again. I don't think they'll try that

That said, I expect a small upgrade "fee" to play first-party games with new hardware updates. Kinda like how some PS5 games have "Directors Cut" editions
