I have watched videos and reviews and I still have no fukking idea what is going on in this game. Absolute skip
we've been playing it the last few days. series of quests just like every other game in the world, with some animal crossing influence. from what I hear it's minecraft too but I never played that. def familiar with AC tho and this is a billion times more engaging and rewarding

edit: she unlocked 3 areas so far and each one individually is bigger than the whole animal crossing map

all right look. i know how grown ass men are supposed to feel about nintendo in general, and pokemon specifically. so I'm not even going to play myself glazing this game. but a few things need to be said

1 - nintendo for whatever weird reason is underselling it

2 - if you have a glimmer of interest in this game, and it ends up in your algorithm, let it live. this is one that will have to speak for itself

3 - its massive. and it never stops engaging. and it wipes the floor with animal crossing. you would have to combine every animal crossing game ever made to come close in scale, then put actual gameplay in them

4 - nintendo is still king of game design

5 - it is a post apocalyptic game. pokopia = pokemon dystopia

last but not least there is an area where you can coop or gameshare whatever it's called, with someone who has a switch 1

I thought it meant Pokemon Utopia

Either way, I don't think I haven't "not gotten" a game more in my entire life other than maybe Minecraft.

Good for its success because it's selling the hell out of nintendos rn. Didn't expect this to be a system seller.... honestly, an indictment for DONKEY KONG as an A lister :francis:

It was made by the same devs who made dragon quest builders 1 & 2. Now I didn't play those games personally, but I had an ex who loved Animal Crossing, Stardew Valley, etc and she played the fukked out of DQ Builders and from the the gameplay that I saw, it was actually fairly robust with strong design overall :ehh:

Pokopia basically seems like the same game but with Pokemon instead of dragon quest. the charm/nostalgia + an actual good game was always gonna do numbers.

I just found out this wasteland is kanto. yea seriously thinking about starting my own playthrough. my daughter likes it but she is too action oriented to play it properly. her world looks worse than when the game started

I don't when I'll find all the time it will take but I want to rebuild these areas accurate to the way they are in the games
