I had an issue with mine. I think I had a disc stuck in there and the system wouldn't read it either. Had a local game shop take it apart and fix it. No issues since then.

We will be able to play digital purchases on the 5? I was thinking about grabbing GOT & FF7 from the PS store but I know my PS4 is going to collect dust once the 5 drops so I dont want to waste that bread if I won't be able to play them.

Yes. Your PS4 digital library will carry over to PS5.
