Damn, thag let surprises me a little. One of the Lamar cards went for $14,000 on year before I bought it.
I think I spend about $26,000 on the four of them, maybe a little more.
I'd wait a month if you're looking to sell. If they're 5-1 and he's putting up monster stats, it'll go up.
Right now, his hype is behind Allen, Hurts and Mahomes.
I'm happy this thread is still active, seems like the market is still dropping and demand has went down 75%, I'm buying a little here and there from PWCC but I know that the quick flip era is gone. Whatever I buy is for longer term holds
When a card is is really short print (< 100 in existence ) or has a high opportunity cost ( <5% chance of pulling that card yourself from a 4-5 figure box) then people are willing to pay good money for it.

The only way to make relatively quick money is to buy low on a guy who's had a down year(s) or injured and hope they ball out again. Guys like Ohtani and Judge made a few people a lot of money the past couple years. Zion's a great candidate for that in the NBA this year. Kawhi and KD fit the bill as well.
Lamar, Tua and Jalen Hurts were picks like that for the NFL coming into this season.
Hindsight is 20/20, but I was saying last year I wanted to buy low on Hurts. I decided not to risk it though.
The price is going up.....I hope.
On 130point.com, how accurate is the best offer accepted prices? I sold my Lamar Kaboom PSA 10 for auction for $3,400 back in August, and some best offer accepted ones say $6,000 for the same card. Are those estimates there, or actually accurate?
It's generally accurate but some of those look goofy to me. People can manipulate prices with bullshyt offers.
