Ah so Netflix railroaded and pocket checked him with the first contract and that’s why he agreed to re-up for two more - so he could get appropriately paid for the global phenomenon he created? Makes sense

It wasn't for me.The Marble episode is literally one of the highest rated and most emotional episodes of the entire show.
And you reduce it to being just "slow" lol

This shyt was terrible. I think all shows should write out 3 seasons from the beginning and not make shyt up as they go along.
You're telling me, this bytch was 8 or 9 months pregnant, not showing, and didn't know it??? FOH!!!!
That's not how most shows go, and especially NOT South Korean shows. Very few K-dramas have more than 1 season.
Squid Game was intended to be 1 season only, like most other K-dramas. However, obviously the show became a global phenomenon, and Netflix definitely wasn't going to pass up making more seasons.

the best way to watch this show is with your brain turned at least half off lol
the main character has some of the most ridiculous plot armor ever seen and everyone in the show has at least a few moments where they act in ways that defy all logic and reason. I mean going back to season 1 this was a major issue and you really can't nitpick anything cause you'll never stop
but in the end it has great actors giving great performances. lee byung-hun carries season 2 by himself. the setup for the russian roulette scene is really stupid but gong yoo's performance makes you lock in regardless. some really good moments where I was completely immersed
so it might be one of the dumbest shows I've ever watched to completion but I still liked it
Word by like eps 2 of s2 I realized we ain’t watching prestige tv BUT that’s ok.
At the same time, this is a prime example of greed ruining a perfectly season of television.
I am not sure how damaged the brand is but all I am seeing on social media is people clowning it. Maybe it's just a social media thing but if they're hoping to franchise this they better come correct with Squid Games USA. I am just seeing many making fun of the tweet below
Yeah, I thought this was odd, but maybe it's intended for Korean viewers (it is a Korean show after all).
Ideally, they should've been playing an American game or a game popular in America. Rolling dice, jacks, hacky sack, or something along those lines.

I think they'll have people catching it for curiosity but they have to come strong out of the gate and not try to recapture similar beats as the korean show. At least they have a competent director behind but the first season for the American version is key because i am seeing discourse about the show change because many were left unsatisfied with S3. We still have to remember online discourse is different than real life

Outside of the games, I legit had no idea what was going on. All the side stories n shyt had me confused cause I didn’t remember any of them, n it was hard for me to tell some of them characters apart

Finished it over the weekend. Would say the hide n seek game and episode was the highlight of the 2nd half.
After that, it eliminated a lot of the more dynamic characters and you were mostly left with scumbags, and not a lot of personal stakes in the final game. And my guy got saddled with the handicap to carry along throughout the games
The off island stuff wasn't that compelling, but that one guy did bring a sense of humor and was right about the captain
