I don't necessarily think she's overrated, however, she definitely lost her focus after winning the two slams.
I dont think she's been able to adjust to the fame and expectations well

She was really hyped up by media after beating Serena. Seems like she's been shaky ever since.

She’s not built for the attention, it is what it is

Yeah, she wasn't ready for all that Hollywood that comes after those accomplishments.

Plus her team and agent were pushing her heavy in terms of endormenets etc, it'll take some time to adjust espcially for someone like her.

Uncertain grounds
Man Osaka messed up in switching coaches after she won the AO last year. That's really all it comes down to. Ever since that switch from Sascha Bajin, she's only won 2 tournaments.

My theory is that there was an argument over her personal life. Couldnt be on court performance obviously

There were these rumors last year lol
So here’s what he said, “The real reason Osaka fired Bajin is because his girlfriend is a 19 year old player in the WTA.”

The logical assumption is that the boss and best player in the world was not super comfortable with her coach dividing loyalties to her own career and the tennis career of his girlfriend. A perfect case of conflicts of interest.

“It makes perfect sense, that explains it,” said one long time tennis journalist when asked for his thoughts of the rumor/bombshell revelation. “I saw her press conference when she said it was definitely not about money. She said it twice.”

I guess we wont know if this was the case until years past but they should have worked it out Bajin was one of the main recipes for her development and success

true but she was SUPER salty this time. it was a bit much even for her "standards" imo
As one of the few Serena haters on this board who can't stand her and thinks she's a brat...that wasn't as bad as I expected. She did her usual, "it was all my fault" and not giving any credit to her opponent routine, which is childish, but she didn't lash out as much as I anticipated.
