He almost lost to Shapovalov.

You and I both know this means phuck all in the grand scheme of things. Majority of people/teams who make a final in any sport they will of faced some sort of adversity along the way.

Also Nadal has previously beaten him in a major final. So there is a bit of psychological advantage can argue that was the same with the US final vs Joker that Med won. But Nadal is in far better fresher shape than Joker was going into that final. Also Nadal is far better at gamesmanship and Med more likely to blow up.

I just watched them both play this tournament.. Rafa could win but i dont think he will.
I would love to see him win and i would love to see George Costanza lose in the womens final, but.... from what i've seen so far in this tournament, that is less than likely
