IMO to me it looks like he knows he's more comfortable on the clay than Jannik so he's not forcing the issue, just staying alive on the point and letting the Come to him :ehh:

Jennifer burying himself w/these unforced errors

Still a dangerous gameplan. Sinner isn't one of those typical big/tall players that lack footspeed. Alcaraz almost lost the first set wit that strategy. He's on his way to winning this match easily, so he's safe now

Do ya'll think Alcaraz vs Sinner can turn into the next big rivalry?

Like a Federer vs Nadal, Agassi vs Sampras, Borg vs McEnroe

Federer/Nadal wasn't such a great rivaly especially for the majority of it

But yeah it can be a great rivalry

Alcaraz needs to improve on fast courts and Sinner needs to improve on clay but it's a good match up most of the time

Djoko vs Everybody was a GOAT level rivalry, IMO. 2011 Novak was on some worldbreaker hulk shyt till the balls at RG got small and roger got em... only to continue the ass whoppings

Yes but I also think it might be like a Sabalenka/Swiatek situation where they peak at different points in the season- ie Sinner on the hard courts and Carlos at the European majors- and don't end up playing each other in the majors

Man I was curious about Nole legitimacy in 2011 up until he straight setted Rafa at Rome like it was nothing. Then i was “yeeeeeeea, this mofo a problem now, none of that third wheel stuff”

I just looked up an interesting stat from Google AI & asked how many times did Novak Djokovic beat Roger Federer between 2009-2017. I used 2009 because that was Fed leaving his prime (29) & Novak almost entering his:

"Between 2009 and 2017, Novak Djokovic beat Roger Federer 14 times. They played a total of 29 matches during this period, with Djokovic winning 14 and Federer winning 15. Their head-to-head record during this period was 14-15, with Djokovic leading 27-23 overall."

I'm amazed how Fed was able to hang with him (and win sometimes) out of his prime but Djokovic was a dog in his prime. He could grind you out & get W

Sinner fully match fit will beat almost everyone on clay…Carlos is just a generational talent.

Also, since Sinner has become more about floor raising and being consistent…the aggression he had in is game is now gone making these matches against Alcaraz a bit more favorable for Lito.
