This exercise makes me realize I don't watch enough of the sport to truly predict anything.

No worries.

To be fair, it's kind of bogus to predict future tournaments to begin with, with a sport like tennis. Ideally you would only go tournament by tournament.

But it will be funny looking back saying "why the fukk did I pick him/her.":why:

I think it has more to do with Rafa falling off.

I disagree. Novak is just that much better than Rafa, hell everyone else.

He called it many years ago saying he was comfortable with Rafa's game and he's finally showing it. OK, it it was clay maybe the scoreline would be a little closer, but still easy work for this Novak...

Rafa's prime or Rafa @ USO 2010 would get washed by this Nole.

Yep. He's ALWAYS played Rafa tight even early in his pro career but couldn't close but since 2011, he begin to win the matches he use to lose to Rafa (and Fed) and now he's CLEARLY in Rafa's head. Idc how great Nole is, talent wise he isn't 6-1 6-2 better than Rafa.

I got the Big 4 in the semi's with it being a Rafa vs Novak final and obviously Novak winning.

You think current Rafa is beating Murray? I'm not saying you're wrong, but I'd be more inclined to ride with Murray.

Depends on where Murray's head is at. If he's still riding high off that Davis Cup win, he can beat anybody in the draw (outside of Novak obviously). If that loss to Kyrios last week was an indication on his AO chances, then i'd side with Rafa. Knowing Rafa though, he'd get taken out by Verdasco in round 1 or Kevin Anderson in the 4th :beli:

Rafa was always comfortable with Federer too, but they put on classics. He started straight up bodying Fed when Fed got older. Nadal clearly is not his old self. His serve is not as reliable and his returns lack the same power. That is how he keeps getting these early round losses. He gives these guys easy shots to return.
