21 of them in a 9 year stretch. Serena has a gap from '03-08 with very little. Her resurgence came during this down period for women's tennis. That's the point I'm trying to make.

It also came when she hired Mourtoglulu as her new coach

I know tennis at times is hard to match up mythologically because it is due to match ups (Rafa is a bad matchup for Fed) but the best of Graf loses to the best version of Serena besides the French Open imo

This is the most bizarre match I've seen in some time. A half hour ago Monfils looks like he's going to give Joker his third walkover of the tournament. Now Joker is trying to dropshot him at every turn and rushing the net in a weird game of oneupmanship.
