On the other hand, I'm happy for Halep because she had already lost 3 major finals. A 4th one would have been brutal I think.

Halep started playing better while Sloane lost her rhythm. Plus Sloane's movement and footwork on clay is not good above all compared to Simona whose game is much more fit for it. Sloane also got slower as the game went on and it worsen her footwork and increased the frequency of her errors. She needed the consistency of the first set but it's harder to do on clay (the game is slower and therefore longer) and against a player like Simona who's a dog on the court and keeps the balls coming back.

Right but props to Halep. She made Sloane come back to Earth by basically playing a Nadal like game (defensive and getting all balls back). She earned it more than Sloane lost it

11 from one damn major tourney:wow:

Thiem was hitting bombs from both sides, soon as I saw him pull a gasquet and go far back asf to hit a BH it was only a matter of time before Nadal would win.

Yep that's what did him. It's one thing to take a step back to handle Nadal's spin but he was consistently 5 meters behind the line and getting pushed back more. I liked that at the end of the second set he tried to go in more but I guess it's too difficult to pull consistently on clay against Nadal. I'm not worried about him because the kid is talented so he'll get his major sooner than later.

Dude has never lost a bof5 on clay after winning the 1st set. That includes majors and when masters use to be best of 5......and we talking 14 years bruhs :wow:.

That shyt is deflating to be up against i bet
