Murray is clearly the 4th best player of this generation but it's hard for me to lump him in with the others with only 3 majors. The injuries are a valid excuse, but Rafa has had just as many injuries.

Oh I meant the recent hip injury that he had. Yea he's a clear distant 4th to the big 3

I actually prefer their 07 match but 08 obviously had more drama

I prefer safin/fed at the aussie

low key 01 and 09 Wimbledon finals were better

'09 will always be remembered as the GOAT final because of how tight it was in every set and the two top dogs were battling it out at about the peak of their powers. Plus, it had a two year build-up with all their meetings at the French and Nadal improving each year at Wimbledon. From losing in four sets, then five, then finally breaking through.

Gotta be the closest match between heavyweights in a Grand Slam final in tour history. Final score was 6-4, 6-4, 6-7 (5-7), 6-7 (8-10), 9-7. :mindblown: :mjcry:

It also made the '09 final even more incredible, imo. Wimbledon is the GOAT.

Federer plays much more aggressively against Nadal these days, I can see Fed winning this.

Either way Novak will straight set whoever meets him in final. :whew:

Tbh I dont really consider a big 4. I know thats the popular thing to say, but the big 3 were way more dominant. Murray was just better than everyone else not named Roger, Novak and Rafa. He would get whooped on by the big 3 but he would also wash everyone else so he was kinda in a bracket of his own

I agree, the 4th place was just a temp seat that Murray occupied the most successfully and consistently. But Wawrinka or (a healthy) Delpo could have also been part of that big 4. Fed, Nadal and Djoko are just different.

looks to be light work for Serena

it was never a big 4, it was the Big 3 in tier 1, and Murray by himself in tier 2 but a Big 4 sells more tickets

Exactly. Kinda like consulting. You got McKinsey, BCG and Bain in their own tier. Then Deloitte and the rest in another tier.
