You play as great as your opponent lets you play. He would not be playing this great if he was up against a younger Fed or a pre injury/surgery nadal

Who's to say This Novak would allow Nadal in his peak to play great? Unfortunately we can't compare players in their peaks when they weren't in their peak at the same time.

Peak Nadal STILL had issues with pre 2011 Novak......ESPECIALLY on hardcourts. Novak is just a bad matchup stylistically for Rafa just like Rafa is for Roger. Novak takes the ball early against Rafa and is just as great defensively. His issues back then only was his serve, nerves, and obviously conditioning before 2011.

Since he's fixed those issues.....

I didn't realize Soderling retired in December and Del Potro still has the wrist injury.
