Novak didn't start racking up majors until Fed was in his 30s. :comeon:
Bu bu but the big 4 era, greatest era of all time etc occured largley when fed was in his 30s. Mind he actually played some of his best tennis during this time but the competition was just too thick for him to dominate like around 06/08

Joker is in his 30's right now :mjlol: He's still #1 and it ain't been close. I didn't know Fed stans went so hard. I like all 3 :manny:

There ain't no youngsters checking Djokovic, though. If the best this era has is Kyrgios and Zverev, Joker winning more slams can't mean more unless he gets to 25 or so. Prime Federer had to deal with two top 5 all-time players younger than him, in their primes, that fed off of his example. There's no precedent. The men's game has never had so little competition outside of the top 3-4. 2000s Roddikk would be winning slams right now.

There aren't any great players under 30. The Tour is in a weird place right now. This has never happened before.

The next wave of supposed stars can't even make QFs on a consistent basis let alone win majors.

Fed's my dude but there is no precedent for a guy damn near 40 still being a top 2-3 player on the Tour. It's nuts.

It's more about modern medicine and conditioning and lifestyle changes to me. Not that I'm taking away from anything he is doing but we are seeing Serena Williams do the same thing on the women's side and there are a lot of new contenders on the WTA but she at age 37 is still right there with them all. Brady is still a top tier QB beyond 40. LeBron is still a top tier player in the NBA after he's been in the league for 16 years. The aforementioned can extend their prime a bit with the right moves.

It's similar with Serena, but sadder. There hasn't been a women's player since 2002-era Serena remotely as good, including Serena. You had your Henin/Clijsters, but they were contemporaries. Serena, who is the female GOAT, fell off well over a decade ago, and can still win slams. Tennis is in a crisis. Nobody stepped up.

I think there's quite a few women out there playing good tennis. It's fine to me..

No he would not. Nothing but a serve and forehand. He would get destroyed by these three in their primes.
3W 7L vs Nadal, (1W and 5Ls after Nadal turned 23)
3W 21L vs Federer
5W 4L vs Joker, all 5 wins before Joker turned 22

To add to what y'all saying. I give props to the big 3 for sure.. but damn the next generation is sad

Take this years wimbledon for example...thiem, dimitrov, zverev, tsitsipas all out by 2nd round. Wawrinka, roanic, monfils, isner caught early Ls too. I dont know what the mental road block is but the young guys cant compete in the grand slams. But like an earlier poster said, when it does happen it will be the US open. Nobody out the top 3 is winning wimbledon or RG for the foreseeable future. Novak and Roger are heavy favorites for Aussie too by far.

Thiem gave Nadal the match of the year at the US open last year. I think he's the most ready to take the leap. It will take a favorable draw and hoping 2 of the big 3 knock themselves out. Dimitrov time has passed. Raonic too. I dont believe in Zverev at all. Kyrgios needs medication. Tiafoe hasnt stepped up. Tsitsipas seems a little overhyped right now, is he even better than Felix?

Are you serious? There's a different winner each tournament on the women's side. :heh:

There's other great QBs in the NFL and players better than LeBron in the NBA. Look at the top 20 tennis rankings for either gender. They're a mess.

We'll see but Tsitsipas has shown competitiveness which that clown Zverev never has. I think he'll be alright. :patrice:

Thiem's the best of the bunch right now but he's never made it beyond the QF at any major besides the French and he's turning 26 in a couple months. :patrice:

This is false. Her level of play in '12 exceeded that. Wasn't as Savage, and tenacious, but overall was a much more adept, complete player.
