Take this years wimbledon for example...thiem, dimitrov, zverev, tsitsipas all out by 2nd round. Wawrinka, roanic, monfils, isner caught early Ls too. I dont know what the mental road block is but the young guys cant compete in the grand slams. But like an earlier poster said, when it does happen it will be the US open. Nobody out the top 3 is winning wimbledon or RG for the foreseeable future. Novak and Roger are heavy favorites for Aussie too by far.

Thiem gave Nadal the match of the year at the US open last year. I think he's the most ready to take the leap. It will take a favorable draw and hoping 2 of the big 3 knock themselves out. Dimitrov time has passed. Raonic too. I dont believe in Zverev at all. Kyrgios needs medication. Tiafoe hasnt stepped up. Tsitsipas seems a little overhyped right now, is he even better than Felix?

The problem with the new cats is that they aren't even vulturing anything at the Masters events either. The Big 3 use the Masters to kind of stay in shape (when they don't outright skip the event) and the New Gen STILL can't win those. The Big 3 usually half ass their way to a title at the Masters events now lol. Only Zverev from the New Gen has won a Masters and that's sad. I guarantee you if you seeded The Big Three 11th, 12th, and 13th at the US Open, they'll all still make the semi's :dead:.

I'm not spoiled by Rafa and Novak winning slams and Masters or being in slam finals as a teen (Rafa) or at 20 (Novak at the Us Open in 2007 and winning the AO in 08) but my EYES saw an elite level of "it" in them from early on. You saw Novak with his ROS and backhand early on and you saw Rafa with his defense and forehand that foreshadowed that they were going to be a problem. Even if it's raw and hasn't tightened up yet, what's something that's elite or even close to elite that Zverev does? Same with Tsitsipas, Tiafoe, Thiem, Coric, Fritz, Shapovalov. What exactly about their game that screams elite?

It's just a bunch of counterpunching baseline females who sit back and wait for you to make an error which is why it blows my mind that a female tennis player with athleticism and even hint of skill can't come through and be a consistent top 10 player. Sloane should be in the SF's of every slam finals but something tells me she just isn't willing to die out there to win if that makes sense. That's how I feel Halep overachieved. She lost SF's and F's time after time but still kept battling until she finally broke through last year and won her first slam. Hell same with Wozniacki. They both were getting clowned for never winning the big one yet they never gave up.

Like you said, Serena fell off, at least physically, damn near a decade ago and she still just serving her way to slam finals and titles. If Venus didn't have that disease, no doubt in my mind she'd have won more slams since 08.

Coco Gauff only 15 and I saw more fight in her than I ever have in Madison Keys. shyts sad
