He's played a lot more tennis than Rafa since the restart and it shows.
Rafa is just that ahead of everyone else on clay. His looping heavy topspin ground strokes are borderline impossible to attack on clay while he’s able to generate winners from both wings at will. Not too mention his athleticism.

Djokovic had a not too disimilar performance against him at the Australian Open where conditions (lower bounce/speed) favour him greatly

It's shytty play caused by fatigue. He just played a 5 set semifinal and this is his 4th tournament (and 3rd final) in 2 months. Completely understandable that he isn't at full strength here.

Obviously clay is Rafa's dominion, but he just looks so much more fresh.

He isn't fatigued, there's no excuse to lose that set by 6-0 barring injury.
