I watch these guys hit the ball so cleanly and with so much power and I wonder if the guys from the 90s(andre, pete, etc) were better than them?

The technology (racquets, strings) has evolved so we won't never know. Agassi played both Sampras and Federer and said that Fed was better but once again, it's not the same era.
