Sampras beats novak today in straights :unimpressed:

Peak sampras easily goat grass player

People can say that fed benefitted from some weaker comp early on

The same argument will be made for these upcoming novak slams

Talent is weak

it's crazy to put the Big 3 in context

but you say 4 majors a year for 20 years = 80 majors

Big 3 in that span = 60 majors

ridiculous :dwillhuh::wow:they've literally won 3/4 of the majors over the last 20 years

60 majors in 20 years? i could divide

thats one every, lets say two, two of them shyts was due
one was nah, the other was wimbledon
thats a one hot major every ten year average
and thats so lame :scusthov:

I see that asterisk next to the 2020 USO :russ:

lmaoooo had to slide that in there bruh because it’s so obvious Nole woulda won that and Rafa and Fed skipped it. That’s the slam that’s gonna haunt Zverev for the rest of his career. He HAD it :snoop:

But anyways I liked what I saw out of Steph, Medvedev (sans the 2020 AO final) and Berrittini. They didn’t lose their slam finals against Novak/Rafa going out like hoes. They showed fight. The USO will be a sight to see if everyone is there healthy

shyt you could probably chop two years off that, when did Fed win his first 2003? So more like 60/72 :damn:

Why is there an asterisk? Covid?
US Open took place in the first half of September like always :yeshrug:

It's not like the tournament was three months later in 45 degrees weather due to Covid. That shyt deserves an asterisk :scust:

Finished the match about an hour ago. All in all, it was fairly competitive. I didn't think Berrettini folded, he just isn't skilled enough to take on Djokovic for five sets right now. I thought he got way too cute trying so many (awful) drop shots and didn't lean into his power nearly enough. He sold out on forehands for very brief stretches and they gave Joker some trouble (like Wawrinka) but he never maintained that aggressiveness. I'm not sure what his game plan was.

A classic Djokovic performance where he steadily raised his level of play the longer it wore on. There's not much else to say about him at this point. I wish I could go to New York to see him chase #21. That would be incredible to see in person with the best crowd of the Grand Slams. The atmosphere is gonna be electric.
