Serena is the overwhelming favorite on the ladies side. Should she make it through the first week (she blew the doors off ole girl this morning), she'll be fine. This is the one tournament she REALLY wants to win more than any of the others since she only has one FO title.

My man Rafa....is the favorite. I think Djokovic may get taken out before the SF but with him, we KNOW he plays his best in Grand Slams and when he looks to be down and out.

Federer has an easy draw on paper but he could get picked off around the QF mark.

Ready to see if Gulbis and Dimitrov FINALLY make that leap since they've both had great clay court seasons this year.

Y'all kill me with the Serena hype... Wasn't she the OVERWHELMING favorite for the US Open 2011, French Open 2012 and Australian Open 2013?

Point is until she's ACTUALLY holding the title, all this talk of being the favorite holds no weight...

The media stay hyping her so that when she win = no big deal...

But if she loses = big story

But the fans should no better... In sports nothing is a given.

It's not because she lost that she ain't the favorite. Being the favorite does not equal automatic win. That just mean that she's the has the best chances to win, that's all. I don't understand why you react that way :mindblown:

Her W/L ratio in 2013 is 36/2 and it's the best in the WTA. Considering the way she steamrolls her opponents there ain't nothing wrong with saying she's the overwhelming favorite.

Nole was the overwhelming favorite in 2011 because his record was 38/0 before the french open and he lost. Yes, but he was still the favorite BEFORE the tournament considering his record.

This Venus v. Radwanska match is entertaining. You never know what you are going to get out of Venus these days. Fought back from 6-1 down on the tie break to 6-5 just to hit it into the net on her serve :heh:

:wow:
Venus was down 0/4 in the 2nd set tie-break and just scored 7 points in a row to win the set.

does watching the french open make anyone else want to drop their life in the states and just move to paris, become a writer/painter, marry a beautiful french woman and enjoy life?

idk why but this tourney has always had a lock on me since a kid. :wow:
