BTW I don't think Novak will end his career with more grand slams than Rafa, even if Nadal doesn't win another French Open. You can see this year that he is slowing down, and Alcaraz (and Felix, fingers crossed) will become a bigger threat with every passing tournament. Plus we're not even sure he'll be allowed to play in Flushing later this year.

let me ask yall this, after Novak (and maybe Rafa if he plays), who's the real true contenders at this upcoming Wimbledon?

as ridiculous as it sounds, before the injury I would've went with Zverev

while Matteo's serving is a lot more consistent and his forehand is massive, that's it...as much as we get on Sasha, he's got a lot more variety to utilize which is sad in comparison to Berrettini. My point it, if Matteo could make it to the final last year, than Zverev could too (barring running into Novak before then) even if Matteo's game is more suited for grass. I just think the time missed with injury would've slowed him down on a deep run again.

as of right now, I'd say FAA has a good shot at another deep run as he's reached the QF in all GS since last year's Wimbledon except for this year's French where he took Nadal to 5 sets.

Props to Nadal for #22

As of now, Novak will go down #1 GOAT because he's the most accomplished and has records the other 2 dont. Most notably winning all masters at least once, and he's actually won every masters at least twice. Nadal and Fed both missing 2 masters and likely going to retire without them.

Fed will go down #2 in my eyes. Nadal having 22 slams doesnt make up for the fact he has ZERO ATP finals and is far far behind in weeks at #1. Nadal doesnt have a 05-06 FED or 11,15 Nole season. Nadal is worse on grass/hard than Fed/Nole on clay. Stans will say Rafa has an olympic gold but Fed has one too. Fed also has considerably more titles than the other two. Having no grass court masters really hurts Fed as he would have cleaned up house every year.

Novak 1, Fed 2, Rafa 3 unless Rafa wins another slam or 2. :mjpls:

I don’t agree, but I wont argue. You can use stats and records to make a case for all 3.

Poor Andy Murray though. Dude killed himself at the end of 2016 to be #1 and his body fell apart. He and Stan were never the same after their FO semi in 2017. Andy imo weakness compared to the other 3 was he really didn’t have a “get out of jail card” shot when when he was in trouble. We know Nadal can rely on going to your backhand or the DTL forehand when he needs a point, Fed can serve his way outta trouble, and Novak crosscourt forehand or/amd backhand saves him when he’s in trouble. What was Murray saving grace besides being a pusher?

I think Del Potro would of snagged at least 5-6 GS had he not gotten that wrist injury in 2010 that basically ended him. His mobility and wing span as a 6’6 dude was incredible. A shame really

bruhs, i'm rooting for Andy Murray. Started the week off ranked in the 60's, but now ranked 47 and if he wins tomorrow, he'll be in the top 35. Say he wins Queen's next week, he'll vault into the top 25. I think he can end the year in the top 15 since he doesn't have much points to defend

yea saw he beat Kyrgios...don't know about Queens...I mean realistically no one current player has really made grass their surface, so I guess it isn't out of question for Andy. Was disappointed we didn't get Murray/Novak earlier this season, but Murray should be inspiration for some of the other players trying to make comebacks

Yea hell even Berrettini may be too much for em tomorrow but it's still a good showing this week for him.

yea Matteo might overpower him but if he could hang in with Nick, then there's hope on that front

sidenote, FAA ran into this Dutch qualifier today whose serve was :picard:...I mean he was just a bot out there...made me question Felix's return ability

yea...crazy thing is FAA was serving well for the most part but once dude got in a rhythm, Felix could do nothing on the return

I thought maybe Felix should move back on the return but sometimes you just run it to the wrong guys on the wrong days
