Patrick McEnroe just admitted it on the ESPN broadcast. The slower paced Grass courts allow players like Nadal and Djokovic who don't have elite serving and power to dominate

One quick way they can bring speed back on court is to change the balls.

2011 French open they changed the ball from a heavier fluffier one to a smaller harder one that increased the speed the ball flew... and Roger beat Novak on clay then because of that.

That was a big talking point on tennis forums back when it happened. Federer would have been eating (even more) if they kept Wimbledon fast. Probably would have won more AO's if they kept rebound ace too.

Yupp exactly. They knew the pace at which Federer was winning those titles from 2004-2007, he would have been at 25+ titles by now, probably nearing 30 right now
They had to "even the playing field"

Keep clinging to this fantasy.

push Wimbledon back a week and for the love of god, elevate Halle or Queens to a Masters event and take away Miami since no one cares about that damn event

Moving that shyt to Hard Rock Stadium was fukkin wack. I enjoyed going to Key Biscayne to watch tennis. Miami Gardens is nowhere near the beach and the climate is totally different.
