Cilic is dictating most of the points and just hammering Alcaraz with forehands. When Cilic can stick to blasting forehands, he's tough to beat.

Alcaraz needs to back him up and go after his backhand.

Knew Carlos would outlast Cilic and im a Cilic fan...

My guy is too inconsistent, either unplayable or very error prone. and I felt with Carlos style of play would push Cliic to press and not play within himself.

He's also mentally fragile, he started so well initially and gave Alcaraz the first set because of foot fault issues. That shouldn't be happening,.he's a seasoned vet. Very easy to knock him off his game.

When he's focused though he's an excellent player,.does almost everything to such a high level when at his best.

It's weird. There's a chance he wins this US Open and gets the number 1 ranking (justified IMO based on his play this year) at 19 years old. And yet the flaws in his game are obvious, yet fixable.

Won 2 of the 4 grand slams this year.

He's coming back next year. I think he's got some more GS wins before he retires.

@Regular_P i'm not even mad at Nadal bowing out yesterday. He just outplayed and that win for Frances led to him being ranked a career high 24th.

Alcaraz or Ruud because number 1 in the world if they win the USO.

He's still a threat everywhere....IF his body holds up. That's the tough part....he needs matches to get into rhythm but he's older, has a baby on the way, and we KNOW his body breaks down WHEN he plays more tennis. I would advise him to play 3 tourneys the rest of the year and shut it down until the AO swing starts

yep and also the other elephant in the room....seeding/defending points. He gotta defend 2 GS's and a GS SF next year. Lol advise him to play nothing but junk 250 and 500's next year to stay in the top 3 lol
