I think his variety off the one hand backhand is seemingly set up to take him further than Sissypass but he doesn't have the mentality/will to grind of Stef

On another note, Carlos is quickly developing Novak's ability to strangle the air out of a match for an opponent.

Yea bruh Carlos got that Novak in him where if you don't take advantage of even the smallest of chances he gives you and you let him back into a game/set....forget about it. I really think if Carlos stays relatively injury free and master grass, he's getting 10 slams easily. I like Rune too, he's a talent, but Carlos got that "it". I'm not going to go to 15+ slams yet, but he damn sure got the talent to do it.

And I feel you about Stef too. Dude has gotten close many of times and ran into Novak at the FO in 2020 and 2021 (can't fault him for that) and at the AO this year but he keeps coming back and not letting it ruin him mentally. It's kinda like how Novak couldn't get over Roger consistently early in slams (outside of the AO in 08) but kept at it and broke through. I think the same can happen for Stef

Gonna be tough but I hope she does it. Would love for her to have a revival

I was pulling for Mertens earlier, but she just couldn't get it done. I need one of Jabeur, Svitolina, Gauff, Stephens, or Muchova to win to hit any of my plays.

Hoping Iga can get upset and Stephens takes of Sabalenka.

Thing is, I'd say the slice isn't good enough for Stef but like you said, he's been to several slam finals, won masters 1000...so it's clearly not stopped him against 99% of the field but it is a problem against Novak & seemingly Carlos.
