Novak isn't getting any cheap points on his serve so it's a struggle for him. He isn't getting many aces and being forced into long rallies which isn't working for him today

Novak struggles against players, as every player does so it's not EXCLUSIVE to him, who plays fearless. Fed, Stan, Murray, Thiem, and Rafa know to beat Novak you can't expect to beat him being defensive against him. You HAVE to be aggressive or....update your flight itinerary.
