Is American tennis back? :krs:

Maybe in 10 years.

No American woman has legit stepped up to fill whatever shoes Venus and Serena had despite this era being kinda weak. Imagine not having to deal with anything remotely close to the Williams sisters, Steffi, Monica or Martina — and still failing to dominate.

As far as the American men :francis:

If you're waiting for another Venus or Serena, you're gonna be waiting forever. Not only are they are generational, they grew up training against one another.

2 American women already won slams this year. Four of the top 8 ranked WTA players are American. American tennis - on the women's side - is doing just fine.

You know Fat Joe gonna bring up a story from the 90s about how he robbed Pete Sampras, and 50 Terror Squad members pulled up to US open, and robbed the entire Arthur Ashe stadium, and Jimmy Connors gave him his Countach on strength, no weapons used :birdman:

The women's match-up is the one I wanted to see, and I think it will be a great match. My two favorite women's players on tour. Sabalaneka has such power, and Anisimova hits the ball so damn well. I favor Sabalenka slightly, but I do think there's a much higher chance of her melting down and going full on Madison Keys with many unforced errors.

I hope Djokovic wins it all, but I won't be mad with an Alcaraz v.s. Sinner match-up. Both players need to get it done, so we'll see what happens. If they both win and there are no injuries or anything like that, I think I'm actually going to slightly favor Sinner. I know Alcaraz gets to balls and makes shots that absolutely blow your mind, but he's also more prone to those moments where he makes a "what the hell?" type play that hurts him. He can get away with that against almost anybody on tour, but Sinner will punish you for that. The one thing I can say for both of them is that they are both mentally strong. Despite Sinner not winning the French Open, he came back strong in that final set when he could have folded. He comes back at Wimbledon and dominates.

The gameplan for Carlos Alcaraz today against Djokovic:

If Novak calls for an injury timeout on his neck, Carlos should go to Novak's forehand

If Novak calls for an injury timeout on his ankle, Carlos should go to Novak's backhand

Me too but i’m sure they didn’t want to put this up against the NFL

Sinner/FAA we’re always gonna get the night match cause they played on Wednesday, but this not being up against the NFL is a positive side effect too.

Tho I doubt there’s much overlap between tennis fans and NFL fans :russ:
