Kinda loved how they completely no-sold his death too, like everyone in the Knick was pretty much expecting dude to fukk up horribly.
That subtle, all-telling irony of Gallinger yelling 'Not so brave now, are you?!' at a ten year old pickpocket he just slapped in the face. The levels!
After the 'ugh'-ness of the reveal of Algernon's wife, I actually like how they built Opal in this episode. They showed why they're attracted to each other as they're both strong and independent but also showed why Algernon was like 'Bye bytch!' because she has no chill and doesn't know how to play the "game" of getting ahead in this whites dominated world.

whole episode was full of ether. Dr. Pervy getting a face full of that slow burn. Cornelia getting two doses of it a) finding out she's a side piece b) getting left behind with her perv father in law. The women getting threatened to get the case dropped.
Damn. I was sleeping on this show. I just took a chance and started watching season 2, without watching season 1 and I'm hooked! I just ordered season 1 on dvd. Bout to binge watch this weekend. Thanks for putting on this piff.
