:whoo::gladbron: BREHS!!! I haven't been paying attention to this movie, but I'm currently listening to the podcast review for this movie from movietrailerreviews.net (http://www.movietrailerreviews.net/index.php/movie/top-five-review/) and them nikkas was talking about this basically a Black version of a Judd Apatow crew movie (Along the lines of 2009's "Funny People") and this 1 of the best black movies they done seen in the last 20 years.

:patrice: The best black comedy films I done from 2010-present is probably "About Last Night" that came out earlier this year, followed by 2010's "Death at a Funeral". Is this movie better than both of them???!!

As I stated before, this DESERVES nomination for Best Picture... but realistically the politics and the brand of comedy this movie has will never get passed the political BS to get a nomination. But this is our version of ANNIE HALL.

I liked it man. But I also like comedies about nothing for real (like this is 40) it's not the typical black comedy tho.

It's basically Chris Rock playing a more dysfunctional Chris Rock.

3.5/4 or 4.5/5 whatever scale you rate on. It's got a couple lulls but not that many. Beautifully written man, good acting, funny as hell, and there's a cameo in it worth the price of admission alone
what about on the 10 pt imdb scale? :lupe:

If I had to vote, I'd go with a solid 8.5/10 and on a good day I'd move it to a 9. It just worked man. It's funny and it's got a lot to say about fame, art, relationships, and things like reality tv and hip hop

great movie. was really shocked to see hov and ye help produced it. figure they would be spouting bout it non stop but chris is heavy enough to promote his own shyt without scaring off white folks with the hip hop connection. im sure after a week or 2 they'll show seinfeld in a commercial for some pop

I saw this move yesterday with the lady. We both found very funny moments in the film. I however and not sure I would call this a comedy. I actually felt it was more like a Woody Allen relationship movie. With the NYC backdrop and the 'city' life focus, it was more a story about ups and downs of life, yet had that trendy artsy 'life in the city' flow.

The "Top Five" hip hop question was very sublte as it relates to the title of the movie. Had very little to do with that question other than the mention of this as like a running pop up question in the film which was played down in comaprison to the bigger theme of the movie. Very tatesfully done.

Good film. 8/10

Saw it friday night it was well done. I bust out laughing at the jfk joke. The crowd I had was thin and you can tell a lot of them were from the Tyler perry audience cause a lot flew over their head. The Houston scene :laff: Kevin hart :laff: the dude from worksholics :whoa:

Funny movie, if you miss it in theaters, you'll enjoy it when it drops on Blu-Ray
