Florida State wide receiver Jesus "Bobo" Wilson has been charged with grand theft of a motor vehicle, a third degree felony, after allegedly stealing a scooter.
Wilson admitted on Monday to taking a Bintelli Sprint scooter that had been parked at the Love Building on
FSU's campus on June 11, according to a probable cause report released by the FSU police department on Thursday morning.
The sophomore was suspended by FSU coach Jimbo Fisher on Thursday but is still able to practice and work out with the team. But Wilson will not be able to play for FSU in the fall if the felony charge is still pending, per athletic department policy.
The report states that the scooter's owner, Sebastian Bellini, parked the Bintelli Sprint outside the Love Building and thought he either left his keys in the ignition or dropped them nearby. Six days later, Tallahassee Police Department officers stopped Wilson, who was riding the scooter and said that he had borrowed it from a friend named Drew. TPD officers noticed damage in several areas.
On June 25, Wilson reiterated to police that he had borrowed the scooter but had no contact information for Drew. But Wilson admitted in an email to police on Monday that he had taken the scooter and said in the report that he took the scooter ''when he noticed the keys were in the ignition.''
Bellini received an estimate for $882.13 in damages, the report states. The scooter's value is approximately $1,000.
