It's maybe beyond the average which was 4 before the tournament, but it's still kinda on par with past performances.
Only Platini really shone as the tournament pop scorer with 9 goals.

He may be an ass now as UEFA prez but Platini was that dude as a player. By far the most complete and elegant #10 I've ever seen.
It's too bad the French players legs were dead after that epic quarterfinal against brazil in 1986 (a fast-tempo 120 min game in searing Mexico heat). They should've beaten Germany in the semis and given us the final matchup everyone wanted when the tournament started: Platini vs Maradona :smoker:
