I work for a energy company

I'm not going into details. if I recall I've given advice on getting into my industry before. This thread purely intended to instigate fukkery and bragging

Get a skill or a college education.
If you have the above,move to an area of the country where the economy is strong and you can continue to develop.

There are niche jobs all over the country, but medicine and technology are sure fire ways to earn a good wage.

If you looking to get into oil and gas, you need an engineering degree of some sort these days . The industry as a whole is stale now, and is notoriously cyclical.

Your not jumping in making the big bucks, be patient and always be prepared to take advantage of opportunity.
