The older I get the less I care about fashion

This is sort of a spin of the Target thread but I use to be into fashion I always had to have nice Polo's and the most expensive sneakers and it excited me going shopping for these things.

Now I really don't care don't get me wrong I care about my appearance I'm not trying to look like a clown but I realized all you need to do is dress appropriate for the situation you don't need to be decked out in latest and greatest fashion.

Now I just buy white on white sneakers or black on black the plainest of the plain. It just doesn't move me anymore I buy shirts not by looking at them and saying shyt this is a nice shirt I buy shirts based on saying this is the only shirt here that I wouldnt mind wearing. Anyone else feel the same way?

As you get older, you realize that clothes don't determine your net worth or value. That's hood shyt. You're spending your bread on real stuff like investments (your crib, your stocks, savings funds, etc.)

Just dress neat and presentable.

But I'm more conscious about being presentable, wearing suits, etc.

You can dress clean for not much bread, but UNLIKE women's clothing, men's clothing IS better the more you pay for it in terms of quality.

I recently bought some Chinos from H&M and a 2nd Pair from Banana Republic the difference is night and day...the BR joints are on a whole 'nother level from a quality (strength of fabric, feel, look, fit, ect.)

The problem is people caught in BRANDS....thats what shouldn't matter. If i pay for some $300 Wingtips from Cole Haan they are shoes that can last me forever. Same as the $1,200 from Ferragamo, but the $40 joints from DSW aren't gonna last me to the end of the 2016.

So the older i get i care less about BRANDS but you should NEVER stop caring about fashion and how you look. If you buying some off the rack $100 Paul Ryan suits u gonna look like them same soccer dad herbs nikkas talk about.

I feel the exact same way...and I used to be on the verge of extreme with it...spending hundreds of dollars on shoes...purses to match...

Once I learned that spending money on depreciating assets would only lead to short term satisfaction I stopped all my extra spending...honestly this should be part of growing up...

with a mortgage and a car note and all my other monthly expenses I am looking to increase my money...

of course I do not sacrifice looking nice....but I do not look any better in a $400 tunic from neiman marcus...than a $40 one from gap...I now shop for quality not brand names...and trust me a great deal of these brand name products are over priced and cheap quality...

to each its own though...but when I feel people look ridiculous is when I see grown men and women still sharing bills with their parents...with a $1000 car note making minimum wage/no job at all with a wardrobe purchased for an obscene amount...but if they were to be kicked out of their home they would be out of luck with boxes full of nice clothes lol
