Its all about keeping your OWN style more and less following trends and brands. Women notice a man that takes time in putting his appearance together more than someone throwing something on cause their favorite rapper wore it in a video.
the older i got the more particular i got about my fashion
the older i got the more particular i got about my fashion
You can dress clean for not much bread, but UNLIKE women's clothing, men's clothing IS better the more you pay for it in terms of quality.
I recently bought some Chinos from H&M and a 2nd Pair from Banana Republic the difference is night and day...the BR joints are on a whole 'nother level from a quality (strength of fabric, feel, look, fit, ect.)
The problem is people caught in BRANDS....thats what shouldn't matter. If i pay for some $300 Wingtips from Cole Haan they are shoes that can last me forever. Same as the $1,200 from Ferragamo, but the $40 joints from DSW aren't gonna last me to the end of the 2016.
So the older i get i care less about BRANDS but you should NEVER stop caring about fashion and how you look. If you buying some off the rack $100 Paul Ryan suits u gonna look like them same soccer dad herbs nikkas talk about.
I was fast asleep, but now I'm wide awake
I was under the spell of Kangol and reserve notes
Religion and fashion, I used to be flashy
I'll never get a cheap sweater/shirt from a place like Walmart/Target/Old Navy again because after you wash it twice, the shyt is already faded.
People balk at paying extra for a nice shirt from a respected brand, but don't realize, that you're getting what you pay for.
That $80 non-iron white dress shirt from Banana Republic is gonna last years longer than that $25 one from Kohl's. Beyond that, I think the colors from brands like Ralph Lauren really "pop" more. The colors will hold up 5-10 years from when you got it too. You save more in the long run that buying the same shirt every year because it faded/fell apart.
Those are the main reasons I stick to brands and really, there's so many deals these days, you almost never have to pay full price for something from one of these stores.
Banana Republic is always having 30-40% off sales at their stores and online. Ralphlauren.com always has good deals in their sale section and 3-4 times a year they do an extra 25% off their sale prices, so you can get really nice stuff for well under the retail price.
true indeed but im never totally loyal to brands...i've found some true gems in places like 2nd hand stores or in little men's boutiques. Don't just hit the department stores and think you doing it...
