Tickets are cheap AF right now everywhere.. I flew to Thailand a 17 hour flight for 400 (one way)

That's still kind of pricey for a one way. They had an all inclusive trip to Thailand on groupon for 800, hotel and flight. I got my tickets to Brazil for $212 round trip.

Beautiful country being destroyed by corrupted government and corporate douchebags, and they decide to host the olympics lol

the world cup was enough, but they had the nerve to host the olympics itself. they got this football stadium in amazon thats being used us a bus parking lot, for a few god damn games that they played under very tiring conditions. they dont even have a football team in the amazon.

look at all the countries that hosted olympics, most of them had a strong economy, except greece. This is a rich man's shyt, none of these poor living brazilians are going to give a shyt about the event and none of them are going to feel proud of hosting this event. It's just stupid.

That stadium is in the city of Manaus which has a metro population of 2 million+ .. and a lower tier team- Nacional FC- does play in that stadium.

-But I agree the World Cup was fine but Rio has no business hosting the Olympics. I was there a little over a year ago. Beautiful city, beautiful women, amazing beaches, the US Dollar went far. Definitely alot of poor in the city and the airport was like 3rd world status. You had no ideal the Olympics were headed there in a years time.

Brazil is dope, didn't have one incident when I was there a few years back. Western media has a way of creating hyperbole about the dangers of non Anglo (first world) countries.
