Houston and Dallas could easily host the Olympics. Even in a joint venture if they chose to help alleviate costs.

When I was in an international economy course maybe 5 years ago the professor couldn't stop raving about the financial possibilities and potential growth for Brazil and I felt like I had been hearing that for years.

Basically, every country that ever hosted the Olympics got fukked over. I think there was one instance where it took literal decades to pay off the debt incurred.

LA '84 and Atlanta '96 are the only profitable Olympics to date. Barcelona was the other successful one (over time).
They were mostly privately funded though
