Wilt Chamberlain is the ONLY HOF player in NBA History to NEVER elevate his game and average MORE points in the playoffs than he did in the regular season

1960: 37.6 ppg in reg season and 33.2 ppg in playoffs
1961: 38.4 ppg in reg season and 37.0 ppg in playoffs
1962: 50.4 ppg in reg season and 35.0 ppg in playoffs
1963: 44.8 ppg in reg season and Didnt Make The Playoffs
1964: 36.9 ppg in reg season and 34.7 ppg in playoffs
1965: 34.7 ppg in reg season and 29.3 ppg in playoffs
1966: 33.5 ppg in reg season and 28.0 ppg in playoffs
1967: 24.1 ppg in reg season and 21.7 ppg in playoffs
1968: 24.3 ppg in reg season and 23.7 ppg in playoffs
1969: 20.5 ppg in reg season and 13.9 ppg in playoffs
1970: 27.3 ppg in reg season and 22.1 ppg in playoffs
1971: 20.7 ppg in reg season and 18.3 ppg in playoffs
1972: 14.8 ppg in reg season and 14.7 ppg in playoffs
1973: 13.2 ppg in reg season and 10.8 ppg in playoffs

Career 30.1 ppg in regular season?

and

Career 22.5 ppg in playoffs?

Guess he just decided to become a scrub during the playoffs :manny:

I doubt it had anything to do with facing better teams in the post season

:beli:

He's not the only HOFer to have to play tough teams in the playoffs breh

BUT

He's the ONLY HOF player to never have at least 1 SEASON where he averaged more points in the playoffs than regular season.

That's like....extremely:scusthov:

Can that ever be duplicated?:lupe:

you have way too much time on your hands in 2013 if youre trying to take shots at Wilt Chamberlain

Thats Wilts one big knock theyres huge games he disappeared in..game 7 of the finals against the Knicks he didnt take a shot in the 4th quarter

It wasnt lack of talent he could have dominated whenever he wanted he just was a little off mentally

It's the middle of Baseball season with no football/basketball until September:yeshrug:

If you wouldn't have tried and justify Wilt's numbers in the last thread, I wouldn't have had to do a double take on his playoff numbers:ufdup:

He is known as a guy who put up great numbers who couldn't get it done in the big games. I had no idea about the playoffs number drop but it's pretty much in line with his reputation.

If it wasnt for @Street Knowledge dropping that ether, I would have never recognized this.

all his inflated numbers have been dissected n broken down too

when i first read the facts behind rebounding numbers during his era :deadmanny:

rodman's rebounding numbers > wilt's
scores 50 a game.. on like 50 fukkin shots :dead:

holds every record on earth..... #2rings

first nba title he won, here are the players who averaged more pts:

Rick Barry - 40.8ppg :whew:
Hal Greer - 26ppg
Chet Walker - 23.3ppg
Wali Jones - 20.2ppg
Billy Cunningham - 19.7ppg

Jim King - 18.3ppg
Wilt - 17.7 ppg :flabbynsick:

the bolded were all on his team.. meaning 4 players averaged more than he did..

Gail Goodrich - 25.6ppg
Jerry Lucas - 20.8ppg
Jerry West - 19.8ppg
Bill Bradley - 19.6ppg
