Censoring speech doesnt work, and backfires badly. Always leads to revolt

but limiting discourse to a range that is acceptable is genius. it allows the citizens an outlet that prevents the formation of any real movement of change. They scream and yell then get tired and think "im thankful to live in a country that allows me to exercise my rights to freedom of speech". then they go home, despite nothing changing.

Trumps election will lead to this range being shifted right, to incorporate White Nationalism into acceptable discourse, and also make previously acceptable ideas like parts of social justice unacceptable.

It happened right in front of our faces, the unexpected and extremely coordinated attack on political correctness. What do you think that was ? There are people on this very site doing it, either intentionally or unintentionally, shifting the range of acceptable discourse away from social equality towards white nationalism.

Next time you see someone demonizing "PC" know what they're actually doing.

Thats ridiculous...partial evil is STILL evil

apply that logic to something else see if it works..Is partial corruption ok? The moral problem with censorship is two fold..
it deprives the sender of the message of his right to be heard
and it deprives the listener of his right to read/listen and decide if the message is worthwhile and how to respond to it

any censorship requires the censor to steal the rights of two people(at a minimum)...no amount of doublethink makes that acceptable.
