Although director Lee Daniels’ Oscar-baity film The Butler, which is based on the life of real life White House service-worker Eugene Allen, is receiving rave reviews — one black character actor is lashing out at the project.

Actor Harry Lennix, who most film buffs may recognize from his roles in The Matrix trilogy, Get On the Bus and most recently Man of Steel, has said the filmmaker of took Allen’s story and “ni**erfies” it and he has dismissed the project as “historical porn.”

“I read five pages of this thing and could not go any further. I tried to read more of it, and I’m not a soft spoken guy, but it was such an appalling mis-direction of history in terms of taking an actual guy who worked at the White House,” said Lennix in a July interview with Shadow and Act. But then he “ni**erfies” it. He “ni**ers” it up and he gives people these, stupid, luddite, antediluvian ideas about black people and their roles in the historical span in the White House and it becomes… well… historical porn. I refused.”

Lennix doesn’t got into specifics about which scenes or characterizations in particular rubbed him the wrong way. And despite his take on the movie, Daniels was able to convince a veritable who’s who of Hollywood to take part in the film.

In addition to the lead role played Forest Whitaker, the movie features Oprah Winfrey, Robin Williams, Jane Fonda, Lenny Kravitz, Cuba Gooding Jr. and John Cusack, just to name a few.

Still, Lennix is far from impressed.

“While any sort of aberrant behavior happens in any community, it has become normative in black cinema that we are these bestial, deprived people, and I refuse to play with that,” he said.

:whew:

Has anybody seen this flick yet and can comment? I'm gonna steal some of this dudes vocabulary too.
This is one of those dudes that's in a lot of movies but I don't know his name. Now I'm gonna keep a serious eye out and support his roles.

In other news I hate those fukking c00n ass JC Penny commercials. How the hell are you a c00n in elementary school? Rapping about back to school.:childplease: I swear 90% of black screen time on TV is shucking, rapping, sports, or general c00nery and 'ni**erfied' bullshyt.

I got the same vibes as Lennix from the trailer especially the scene where JFK is talking about the butler opening his eyes to the civil rights struggle. The shyt just looks awful.
Might end up seeing it anyway cause one friends want to go but it's not a movie I am looking forward to at all.

At the beginning of mean streets
i wish people would see this movie before they pass judgement

He read the script though (albeit it was five pages), I think I'ma just take his word and just not even fukk with it. Only movies getting made with black people are some mammy, slave, indentured servant bullshyt and then it gets Oscar buzz. Hell nah. Is it really hard for studios to fund black movies about traveling the world and discovering ourselves like white people do?

"...I read five pages of this thing and could not go any further..."

I hate when people say shyt like this. If that's all you read, why do I need to take your opinion seriously? :what:

That said, I'm probably not gonna see this movie.

"******flies" It up Harry, really :comeon:
The bulk of Butler is about the lead character's son who's so pro black and anti- cac he might as well post on thecoli. This movie is just the rehashed tale of Booker T vs Dubois; yall educated heads know what I'm talking about. Both sides have strong arguments. Its a "black" Forest Gump where the lead is privy to inside knowledge of what White leadership thinks of Negroes and how he attempts to protect his family according.

The fact that as a black man dude can't really explain why he doesn't like it without using the n word and how he was silent on Django reveals how he really feels. He's upset he didnt get cast in a film where every Black actor in hollywood got to eat :lupe: I mean David Banner's is in it, I'd be mad too.

I mean really though, had you taken out "The Butler" out the article, I wouldve thought Harry was talking about Django. Django is about a Black man gaining freedom and repairing his family with the help of a the white man; around here that's a White liberal's wet dream. The final "villain" of Django is the fukking house c00n or at least that the person our titular hero decides to focus his vengeance:what: on...a good hour of the film's dialogue is nothing but Leo da gawd saying blacks = violent stupid animals who are likely to go on a rapture if set fre-:lupe: .... but "The Butler's the problem:shaq2:

Why would they do that when their image of Blacks is that of slaves and servant. They portrays us in these filth bc that's how they really see us.

:pacspit: at a nikka directing and campaigning to get funding for this shyt.
