VD is still better than anything on the Packers roster, older or not.
His market value is somewhere around a 4th-5th round pick and a trade wouldn't factor into the Comp. Pick calculations, like it would for the off-season UFA acquisitions, either.
#18 rank TE R. Rodgers (from #18 rank QB Aaron Rodgers): 21/189 yds. | 9.0 ave. | (2) TDs | (8) 1st | (2) 20+ yds.
#26 rank TE Garrett Celek (from #22 ranked QB Colin Kaepernick): 15/139 yds. | 9.3 ave. | (1) TD | (7) 1st | (1)
20+ yds.
T-#28 rank TE V.D. (from #22 rank QB Colin Kaepernick): 12/170 yds. | 14.2 ave. | (0) TD | (8) 1st | (3) 20+ yds. | (1) 40+ yds.
Even with a worse QB and sharing time with a TE getting more targets than he is, VD has made more 20+ yard catches and more 40+ yard catches than R Rodgers, so far.
VD's ave. is a lot better than Rodger's too, & his yardage is barely less, (29 yds.).
This is where the rubber meets the road for GMs.
Do you go all-in and do everything you can to get that Lombardi while the window is open - or do you sit around and hope Lady Luck drops a deuce on somebody else's chances?
