I've never had to RMA anything. I usually buy local though. At the worst I have to make the 45 minute drive back to Microcenter. With my 980 ti 6700K build I only had to go back to swap the RAM. Whatever you got is probably killing my build. Don't see why you'd need to upgrade with an overkill PC.
Yeah, my shyt is nice. 4790k at 4.6ghz, Titan X sli, etc. But it still can't do 1440p X 3 at 60fps on modern games. I want that shyt. Come this fall, I'll have it. It's just a waiting game right now. My VR is set though. VR games aren't graphically intense, when you have a Titan X, so...whatever. I want it all. I want nvidia surround on games with my 3 1440p monitors. With a Titan X SLI build you can't do that right now on current gen games (last gen games like TR2013 and Crysis 3 you can, but not current games). :manny:

I have the worst luck with tech. I've RMA'd so much (GPUs, Ram, Liquid cooling, etc.). I have bad luck. I don't wanna deal with multiple companies anymore. I just wanna deal with one. Plus, they'll build it, so if it fukks up, they send somebody to my house and fix it. No stress involved at all. I'm gonna get a prebuilt for my next shyt. I'm sick and tired of the runaround you get with building your own shyt and dealing with the RMA process (which can take weeks/months)

I will wait for the ti,

titian cards are over priced.
More VRAM though. I need that shyt for 6K (1440p X 3). At 6K I'm using like 10gb of VRAM on certain games. A 980ti sli setup couldn't handle it. Even some games, like BLOPS3, use 9gb of VRAM at 1440p. I need that extra VRAM Titans offer

Intel Core i7-6700K, EVGA GeForce GTX 970, Corsair 200R - System Build - PCPartPicker Is this an ok build? Basically I want to have all my games be able to run at 1080 60fps I was thinking 1440 but that might kill my budget just finding those monitors.
When do you plan to buy this? I would probably drop down to 8GB RAM to start off and drop the DVD writer completely to see if I can squeeze in a GTX 980.

Before you buy anything, try to make sure you can get the most expensive parts on jet.com to take advantage of that 15% off promo. It caps out at $30, but still a savings nonetheless. Do you live near a Microcenter? They tend to have deals that are pretty tough to beat.

You're just at the limits of what's possible with tech right now. You'll probably need another generation of graphics cards before what you want becomes common place. Staying at the bleeding edge of tech while it still can't do what you want seems like a waste. Probably within the next 1.5 to 2 years computers will be where you want them to be. These next cards will simply be 980 ti power level at a more mass market piece. 2 Titan X cards should be better than 2 of those.

I want to have it all done by the end of June. And there's a microcenter here it's about an hour but I can make the drive if I went to pick up 2-3 parts.

The Pascal Cards are supposed to be a big jump. 16gb of HBM vram and 30% faster. If I put 2 of those in my system, I'll think I'll be good. I might not be 6K, all ultra, 60fps, but I'll be close. I've even considered putting 3 cards in my next rig. I don't want to, because of heating issues, but if they are priced right, I just might

need some help brehs.

put everything together, power on, seems like everything is running fine, then the power cuts out.

then it seems like its gonna start up again, repeat

same things just keeps happening.

took it all apart, put it back, made sure everything was tight, same issue.

any idea what i did wrong?
I had this same problem when I first built mine. My issue was I didn't have the ram sticks all the way in the mobo. They should snap into the mobo, if that don't work try one ram stick at a time, might have a bad one

which parts would I be able to cut corners on/downgrade? Like I said I want a solid 1080/60fps but also want to try and keep the build to 1200
Like I said, shop around a little bit. Drop the RAM to 8GB to start with as any game you want will run with it. I would get rid of the dvd drive unless it is absolutely necessary, that is $50 or so right there. You can always skimp out on the case if your cable management skills are on point, but that is entirely your call at the end of the day...that is potentially another $20 saved.

Try to get the CPU on jet.com to save an additional $30 if possible, if not? Try to check microcenter as generally their prices are going to be tough to beat. That is $100 right there that will start getting you close to the 980 or the Pascal refresher territory. The GTX 970 is a great card, but the minimum for VR and maxing out anything at 1080P. At 1440P you are going to start feeling the performance hit if you ever buy one of those nice Acer Predator or ASUS monitors.

Other than that? I can't recommend much, what attracted you to that motherboard? You can scale it back a bit, but it depends on your individual needs. There was a nice ASRock Board with an M.2 slot for about $79.99.
