Not ready to invest in 4K but these benchmarks look like my hand will be forced when the TI drops

The Devastator is a fine keyboard man. Yeah it's not mechanical, but come on :comeon:

You guys are being a bit ridiculous TBH :camby:
as far as I know he only uses his computer for gaming. Mechanical is better for that. if its a budget thing, thats fine. But from his response, looks like he just aint know about the mechanical keyboard options out there.

you the one that sounds ridiculous now.

Who here has used the Devastator/Octane? They feel pretty damn good...honestly it shouldn't even be at $30.

I see everyone recommending mechanicals but not a key switch. I recommend reds for you @Leasy

:patrice: Yall need to cut that shyt out lol.
Nah breh, mechanical keyboards are the shyt. If you wanna be cheap, go to Microcenter and get one of those cheaper European designs (different enter button). My older setup has a European mechanical. It's cheap as shyt, but substantially better than any "traditional" keyboard

mechanical is worth the money IMO, if you use the keyboard a lot

I mean, using a HDD is "fine", but a SSD is a lot nicer. we (I) ain't out here trying to squeeze together a $300 gaming PC. I like spending a little more to have nicer stuff

best thing is to go somewhere you can try the different switches. I think the general consensus is that cherry mx 'reds' (linear) are better for gaming, and 'blues' (clicky) are better for typing. 'blacks' are like 'reds' with a stronger spring. and 'browns' are like 'blues' with less click. I think there's some other colors out there

I have 'reds', and they're great for gaming, but not so great for a sloppy typer like me. you barely have to push a key for it to actuate, so I'm always hitting the neighboring key

Bad example IMO.

SSD is light years better than a HDD...it's not even close and has a great impact on gaming. Keyboards? Yeah mechanicals are better, but any setup with a Devastator or similar keyboard if you are trying to save a bit of money starting out is fine, then stepping up to a nice keyboard.

I tend to link people this so they can get an idea of what to expect. Old post, but the images help people make a decision if they can't use any of them in person.
