That 3 GB shyt. That's a whole different card. No idea y they named it the same. That 6 gig and Newegg need to stop playing and get this money And I can't do AMD. I just can't.

I have my R9 290X just incase with my two new GPUs. I feel as though it is necessary to keep your PC parts in my opinion.

I've never had a GPU go out in my life. Was playing Skyrim (shut up, brehs) and *POOF!* Hiss... First, I thought the monitor had gone out.* Then I thought my power supply had gone out until I saw that my 650 could run. Then I wept tears like mother Mary at the foot of the cross because yuuup...it's the GPU. Not as bad as the monitor but worse than the motherboard, IMO. I mean, a brehette has $400-500...just not for a GPU, you know? Yet, at the first of the month (wake up, wake up, wake up), that's where it's about to go.
The crazy thing was that I was *just* about to put it on Amazon for a few bucks towards a new GPU! So yeah, always keep a backup. That's why I still have my Samsung 3 (plus the wall charger I have to use for the battery b/c the USB port doesn't work.) That thing saved my ass when I dropped my Aquos Crystal in water.

*The backlight's been fukking up, but it's mad old - a Westinghouse 48" that was $800 when I bought it - you can get them for about $250 now. Mind you, this wasn't a TV...it's a monitor. But my baby's been good to me, so no complaints.

my 970 is my main GPU right now.
my 760 is plugged into the secondary slot and is only used for Nvidia Phsx (never).
but if my main gpu ever went out, i would have a backup.
