I have a gtx 660. And I'm lazy, don't want to start from scratch.

Been googling all morning and it seems these cheap HP and Dells are purposely made difficult to upgrade.

The HP I had is perfect for upgrading, I would just buy the same one, but I can't find it anywhere.

I might just have to bite the bullet and spend $200 on the replacement motherboard.

That actually looks pretty decent if the 3470 is in there.

Another 12GB RAM, GTX 1060 or RX 480 and a small SSD and you will be ready to stick with that for the next 3-4 years.

What gen was the i5? That sounds like some 1st gen shyt.

A 3470 is still pretty decent for todays games as most games are still mostly GPU bound.

It's got a gtx 1070 8gb ddr5
I7 6700hq 2.6 ghz
16 gb ram
256 gb ssd
1tb hardrive

That should hold me until the new Volta Cards drop then I'll start build a new desktop.

The good thing with those new laptops with the 1000 cards is that it is a full desktop class GPU inside, you will be good for a while with that 1070 inside.
