I ended up buying it. I’m trying to not get caught up in the FOMO and save some bread. Don’t make no sense paying more for 1 FPS when I can put the money into something else.
yeah i'd just stick with the 9700X. cheaper and no inter CCD latency in those games that make use of many cores.

I built with one, would do it again

If you need some more horsepower you can pop the hood and get a very respectable performance gain over stock to get it within pissing distance of a 7800x3d

Aight, so update. I returned the 9700X and the SSD(the box looked tampered) cause I saw the 9800X3D on sale for $399 at MicroCenter.

Problem; MicroCenter sale ends the 11th and I don’t think the bread will be back in my account by then. So I lowkey fukked myself :mjlol:over but it’s whatever, it seems like I’m killing myself over single digit frames.

The only thing I wanted was that CPU cooler because the minimal RGB but apparently it’s super popular.

eBay has them either brand new or new open box(not sealed but still used little enough to be considered new legally) for around $400-430

MicroCenter had them last week for $400 retail and as of today, it’s $430 which I’ll probably end up buying. I picked a cheaper CPU cooler and just put the bread to the CPU. I don’t think I’ll need a CPU upgrade for a bit though.

I was using this as an aesthetic reference but that Noctua cooler I had to swap out for something cheaper.

About to take the dive into 4K PC gaming

Besides it being expensive af, any reasons why I should just stick with high frames and 1080p/1440 resolution?

Let me rephrase, I am under no impression of get max frames in 4K :russ:

What I’m asking is basically 1080/1440 still very good quality wise compared? 4K is 4K but is the gaming experience worth the extra money and potentially lowered frames

If you play competitive multiplayer/ eSports titles probably stick with QHD.

You want to play AAA/ single player titles then 4k at lower frames is worth the jump, especially if you've already got a 4k TV knocking around.
