yall peep the Asus Mars 760? it's a single cards with two 760 gpu's

http://www.kitguru.net/components/g...sus-gtx-760-mars-review-1600p-ultra-hd-4k/30/

As we have seen today, the Asus GTX 760 MARS is more than capable of ousting the last generation GTX780, and is often able to outperform the legendary GTX Titan. It can even keep up with the GTX 780 Ti, although the latest Nvidia flagship puts up a mighty battle, losing some tests, and winning others.

We do admire Asus standards of engineering, and the GTX 760 MARS is not only built to perform at the highest levels, but to last. Asus are using a hefty 12 phase super alloy power configuration, with highest grade Japanese Nichicon GT Series black metallic capacitors adopted throughout. While quite often these may sound like buzzwords to many readers – we managed to overclock both GTX 760 cores to a staggering 1,167 mhz. This is a very stable video card even when pushed to the limits.

At these manually enhanced clock speeds, the Asus GTX 760 MARS scored much higher than the Nvidia GTX 780 Ti, even when it was also overclocked to 1,122mhz. Asus have also worked closely with Nvidia during the development of the GTX 760 MARS to achieve Quad Sli support and certification, although unfortunately we were unable to test this today.

The Direct CU II cooler does an admirable job of keeping both GTX760′s in check, holding at under 80c when gaming. It isn’t the quietest cooler by a long shot, but the fans don’t emit a harsh, high pitched sound while pushing a massive amount of air across both heatsinks underneath.

Any downsides?

Well, we do need to point out that if a particular game is released before Nvidia manage to code an SLI profile, then the frame rates will be literally halved. To be fair, Nvidia are very active in releasing driver updates so this is unlikely to happen on a regular basis. Still, if you are contemplating a purchase of the ASUS GTX760 MARS card then we highly recommend you update beta ForceWare drivers at every release.

ASUS informed us before going to press that the GTX 760 MARS will be priced at £519.99 inc vat, which places it around £30-£50 less than competing GTX 780 Ti solutions. Of course you could buy two GTX 760′s for less than this ASUS MARS solution, but that is somewhat missing the point, and you would lose another PCI e slot. Performance fanatics will also already be budgeting for two of these cards for a Quad SLi setup.

Discuss on our Facebook page, here.

Pros:
  • Built to the highest standards with high grade Japanese components.
  • its a looker.
  • not triple slot!
  • outperforms the GTX Titan, often matching the GTX 780 Ti.
  • massive overclocking headroom with ASUS GPU Tweak.
Cons:
  • A little noisy under load.
  • regular driver updates will be needed to get the latest SLI profiles.

makes sense, 760 SLI (which is basically what this is) is comparable against a titan, but for it to trade blows with a 780ti is impressive

I'm a little confused about the price. when I do the conversion of the £519.99 they quote, it comes out to $837.34. but they say it's less than the 780ti ($700). I think the euro prices are higher in general, but I don't really know what's up with that until I see it on sale here

but if what they say is true (less expensive than a 780ti but more than two 760's), I still think it's in a kinda awkward place. it's advantage over actual 760 sli is that it fits in one pci slot, but if that was what was important to me, I'd probably rather pay a little more for the 780ti, just for the piece of mind of not having to deal with any sli issues. or just get a regular 780 for cheaper, and overclock the hell out of it

it is interesting though. I think evga had some cards like this (2 gpu's) back in the 400 series

most likely referring its cheaper than a 780ti in euro pricing, doesnt account for usd prices.
(yeah i ran to amazon real quick and the 780ti is £652.20 or 1050.24 US Dollar)
and yeah mars, ares, matrix cards in general doesn't really "make sense"- its mostly for [show/extreme enthusiasts/both] because they usually put certain tier cards in weird spots

http://forums.blackmesasource.com/showthread.php?p=564005

HAPPY 15TH BIRTHDAY HALF-LIFE! We here at Black Mesa have some big news!

The Big News:
Last year, Black Mesa was one of the first Steam games to be Greenlit by you, our amazing fans. We've had quite a year since then, with a lot happening internally that we haven't been able to talk about... until now. Black Mesa has been given the opportunity to be sold as a retail product on Steam! This is an incredible honor - one we never expected - but also one we found hard to accept.

We never developed Black Mesa with money in mind. Our team is made up of average, hardworking people, and no one joined the team to make money. For us, Black Mesa is purely a labor of love. We believe this philosophy has significantly contributed to the overall quality and feel of the game.

Our decision to sell Black Mesa rests on two key points. One is we believe we can make the game even better by having full access to the Source engine. This lets us tackle and fix limitations instead of working around them. The second is because frankly, our team could really use the financial help.

The Plan:
Soon you'll see Black Mesa available on Steam for a relatively low price. But we aren't dropping all support for the free version. In fact shortly after the Steam release there will be a completely new free version of the game. We also plan to open source our maps and some game assets to the modding community!

Purchasing the Steam version of Black Mesa is more about supporting the team and our efforts than anything else. However, the Steam version will include features that the free version simply can not have. We will be paying careful attention to feedback, and you'll have a very real say in how the final game turns out.

Long-Term Plans and Xen:
We've been overwhelmed by fan anticipation for Xen, and we're excited so many people are eager to conclude the game. To be totally honest however, Xen is still a ways off. Over the past year, we have spent a HUGE amount of time porting the game to a new engine and fixing hundreds of bugs. The work to port to the new engine was not because of the decision to go retail, this was work that had to be done to get Black Mesa onto Steam and support our future plans.

So, please be patient with us as we work to make Xen a stunning and worthy conclusion to Black Mesa. Until Xen is completed, we have multiple interesting additions planned for the Steam version of Black Mesa, which we will announce later on down the road.

Thanks,
The Black Mesa Dev Team

yeah, they've been constantly adding to it, so it's pretty big

it's a class based FPS. the classes are all pretty distinct, and 'strict' (in that if you're a 'medic', you can't pick a sniper rifle), so winning comes down to everyone doing their 'job'. part of why it's so popular is that there's a class to fit many different playstyles. there's also a bunch of different game modes

it's a good game and worth checking out. I think it has a tutorial you can play vs bots
