SSFIV sessions with Dane, Mook and 2Guns = :smugdraper:

Also, we need to look into this shyt:

DayZ - zombie apocalypse online FFA permadeath survival Arma II mod

The setup: Your typical zombie survival scenario EXCEPT for the fact that the focus is not on actually killing zombies. Much like The Walking Dead comics, this mod is primarily about human interaction/emotion.

When you start off you have a pistol with a couple mags, some water and a can of beans. You have no map/compass and have no idea where you are. Naturally, food, weapons and other useful items are scarce, so scavenging/hunting/trading is the only way to survive.

The stakes: You can only play one character at a time and death for each character you play is permanent. If you've survived for weeks out in the wilderness (all of your character's items/info are saved to a master server), only to be shot in the head by a marauding bandit player, that character is gone forever. When you respawn, you will start a new character.

Player interaction: Most of your time in DayZ will be spent building relationships and deciding who to trust. Some people want to live in a friendly community, some will do whatever it takes to survive (even if that means killing you for a can of beans because they were on the verge of starvation) and some just want to watch the world burn. I've seen small groups of friendly survivors get robbed by masked bandits and used as zombie bait/distraction. I've seen people get murdered for a can of Coke. I've seen people trust others, only to be shot in the back and stripped bare as they lay bleeding on the ground. This is the reality that DayZ presents.

The mod is still in Alpha so there are still some bugs to be sorted out, but if you like the idea of a true survival sandbox, I can't recommend this mod enough.

By the way this all takes place on the entirety of Chernarus' 225 sq km.

I'm coming back in this week. Budget build. Athlon II X4 @ 3.0GHz, 4GB DDR3, and leftover parts from my previous. Not the best but I'm building up. Case, CPU, RAM, Mobo, & PSU new came out to about $140 total. :win:

yo...can anyone recommend me a decent laptop cooling pad ?

Just played a modern game on my laptop for the first time in like half a year, played a bit of skyrim and after like 2 hours it shut off.

so I windowed mode that biitch and monitored the temps...
cpu goes up to 100C then shuts down :noah:

anyone know a decent cooling pad for a regular sized laptop ?

Ill prolly re-paste the cpu in a bit but right now it runs kinda hot even on older games (but no shutoff on deus ex/bullestorm/etc)

cant afford for that shiit to shutdown on D3...

If you having issues like that I dont think a cooling pad will help much. I doubt it will bring the temp down more than 10C, if that.

Try to clean all the dust you can. Whenever I dust out my desktop it brings the temps down. And of course make sure your using it on a well ventilated surface.

I dont know...I just did a hella hood thing, put up the laptop on a book and stuck a decent-sized regular plastic fan on the side

the funniest shiit is that it seemed to work so far. the highest it went is ~85 or so and thats just for random short bursts. seems stable at around 75 for skyrim on high settings :ehh:

definitely need to take the dust off and repaste tho.

but I feel like a cooling pad might help a good amount.
