Go Intel and I'll sell you a like new R9 280 in box for $180 shipped.

Go haswell
Save a little on the case unless you are absolutely in love with it.
Save a couple of bucks on the hard drive by buying one from goharddrive.com

Where is your SSD? :usure:

I'll throw in an optical drive as well if you buy the card from me, I have tons of those laying around collecting dust. Don't buy one of those at full price anymore :scusthov:

I picked the case mainly cause a friend of mine recommended it. He kept telling me about needing a fan to keep the video card cool and having good airflow overall. I thought about adding a SSD but I was on the fence about it.

Whats wrong with the FX 8350? The only bad things I was told about it was the stock fan being terrible and its power consumption.

An SSD is the bottleneck in a PC, its a damn near must at this point for a high end PC. The case is good, but I think its better to cut a little bit on that and throw it into at least a 256GB SSD...your games will load much faster.

The FX 8350 is a fine processor, but the problem is that if you are spending that kind of money on a CPU + Mobo...trust me just go Intel and make sure its haswell. AMD can still offer some pretty nice bang for buck, but not on high end shyt. Plus it looks like AMD is slowly backing out of the enthusiast CPU platform...it's going to be all APU from here on out from them I am assuming. FM2+ and AM1 socket

@2gunsup and @daze23 will surely agree.

:patrice:

I'm not sure about that motherboard. I heard the cheaper boards are risky to use. I'm also thinking about switching the case out for something better and slightly more expensive.

if money is an issue get the better case later.
the case i have now will be good for years to come, i love it.
if you are feeling iffy about the mobo then get a better one.
it's nice to know your board can handle more ram later down the line....and also to be fairly confident that it won't crap out on you.

the only real suggestion i have is that you get a 250gb SSD, trust me.

I would scale down the 280X to a 280... And get the 280 + optical drive from me... That saves you about $100 right there.

Apply the savings to the SSD and motherboard. Try to get a z97 board and 250-256gb ssd

I would try to get the unlocked 4690k and a z87/97 mobo

For the same price, I think the Corsair 450D is better looking and those dust filters haven't let in any dust since April on mine. I think I would also go with a z87 or z97 motherboard. Also, I recommend the cooler master 212 evo over the
POS stock cooler that Intel gives you.

You can also get a cheaper case and upgrade to an SSD. You can buy cheap windows keys at reddit's software swap as well.
