Anyone messing with high end mice? I just upgraded from a G500 to the wireless G700 two days ago. It's taking a little bit to get used to but the wireless freedom is something I really wanted as I hate cord drag.

Maybe Crysis 3 is demanding at 1920x1080?? I can't select that resolution on Crysis 3 it doesn't show. I only can choose 720P and something lower. The game was automatically configured with everything on medium, texture resolution to high and SMAA low. The game played flawlessly at 60FPS with the occasional dip to 40fps. That is very playable to me and it looks amazing. I turned everything up to high except shaders and shadows and the performance didn't seem to change.

This was in the first level too with all the rain and even when you get to that bridge area where the helicopter starts shooting at you.

My rig is fairly mid range(OC'd FX4100 4.1ghz, 8GB ram, GTX 550 TI OC'd)

I'd rather put the game in 1920x1080 resolution with low graphic settings as the game still looks way better on low compared to consoles.

just for fun, put everything on "very high" (not "high"), turn off AA, and see what kind of performance you get on the first level (and please be using fraps, or something similar when you talk about framerate. I went back and forth with this one dude, only to find out he was 'guesstimating' his framerate the whole time)

I'm not sure why you're capped at 720p. are you still playing on a 720p monitor? they might have just capped that card for this game, but I've never heard of something like that. 1080p is more than twice the pixels though

I was using fraps when testing for performance. It stayed mostly in the 50-60fps and occasionally dipped to 40ish or even 35 if a lot of things happened but even then that was far and few so far.
I really don't know why I'm capped at 720P though.. Crysis 1 had this same problem and the only way to circumvent that was to run the game in DX9 mode which allowed me to choose 1080P. I'm playing on a 720P TV but it allows me to use 1920x1080 @ 30hz on the Windows desktop and a lot of other games. ONLY Crysis 1 and 3 so far doesn't let me choose anything else.

I'm going to try the very high settings in a sec.

Crysis 3 has graphic prefixes. He might have his set to medium, which might only allow up to 720, thats the only thing i can think of

sounds like it's definitely your monitor holding you back though

anyway, no one was claiming that the game wasn't scalable or didn't look good at lower settings. just that it really is a beast when you turn shyt up

go into your video card's options.

maybe you can override some option...?

I've tried all that. I tried to make 1080P a custom resolution but sometimes it doesn't work. I even went into the crysis install directory and found this cfg file with R_width and changed it to 1920x1080 from 1280x720 and it didn't change. I even set the file as read only and it still didn't do anything. Oh well I'm not complaining though my TV is 720P and Crysis 3 still looks amazing on it.

@daze23 I tried everthing on very high sans AA and my framerate was like :childplease: shyt looked  but played choppy with framerates chugging along in the low 20's even high teens. I knocked back shading and shadows to medium/high and it increased framerates but it wasn't hitting 40. I think texture resolution is the biggest offender. I'll try it at high with everything on very high again.

nah, texture resolution pretty much only depends on the amount of memory your card has. lighting and shadows are the usual suspects. I think 'object quality' might effect actual geometry, so that could be a big one too
