I can get that EVGA case for free in a few weeks :patrice:
I was reading and watching reviews on it. You're right, it's a mixed bag. It's heavy as shyt and has a weird orientation. I'm gonna do some more research and look for a different case. I might go back to my 900D. I want optimal air flow, so that might still be the best option. It's just so fukking big (same with the EVGA case too.....50lbs with nothing in it :why:). Maybe I'll go with the 750D too, but the liquid cooling options are limited. I dunno yet. I gotta find something soon though. :yeshrug:

The Phanteks Evolv :ohhh:

I think I'm going with that. It's got tempered glass and RGB too :wow:

I went with the Evolv and a 6900K, with an Asus X99 Deluxe 2 MOBO :wow:

New build coming in the next few weeks :blessed:

Edit: Put on hold. I'm not sure the 6900K is worth it. Gotta do some research :jbhmm:

Now that we have more reliable benchmarks for the 1080, can someone confirm where I stand?

I have a MSI 980TI OC. From everything I can gather, it's literally on par with the 1080. VR, 4K, and efficiency seem to be better on the 1080, but I haven't adopted VR or 4K so I doubt it really matters, anyway. Only game I'll likely play to stress either will be GTA V and even that seems to be in the same ballpark.

Am I missing something here or is the performance differences really that negligible?

It's about a 30% increase. I had some 1080s in my machine (now Titan X Ps), and I noticed a substantial bump with 3D Mark and other benchmarking tools. Now, I didn't have anything overclocked, so maybe that would make a difference.

I'm going with the 6850K over the 6900K. It's just better for gaming, plus it has 40 lanes, as opposed to the 20 or so with the 6800K or 6700K (I'm sli-ing and want to get some PCIe SSDs).
And it's $400 cheaper than the 6900K :whew:

~$600

The 6900K, which is what I originally wanted to get was $1100. After doing a bunch of research, it appears that the 6900K is not ideal for gaming; it's meant more for 3D rendering and editing. The 6850 has 40 lanes, so I can go 16X16 on my GPUS and still have room for a PCIe SSD.

I went all out on the LEDs with my new shyt. The lighted Keyboard (which is the shyt [Razer Black Widow Chroma] combined with matching colors on the Razer 1600dpi mouse I just bought [shyt is so fukking fast...:damn:]), and the gaming mouse pad, I got my shyt lighted up proper :win:
