Is this 960 level?
Maybe if overclocked, but all specs have shown that it looks like it will just be an overclocked GTX 950.
It's meant to be the successor to the GTX 750 Ti/GTX 950 with a 75W TDP.

Just upgraded the memory and added a bigger ssd drive

It got terrible at one point. I remember taking apart a case just because the front fans were slightly louder.
Problem is I didn't like the blue LEDs because they were a little too bright for my liking. So I went can hunting for about 3 hours online to get exactly what I wanted.
The difference was barely audible...took 5-6 hours of work

I did know, but with my 750 corsair case I could hide most of it. But with the Evolve it's so open. I guess it's the price you pay

have you looked into EVGA's powerlink thingy? they were giving em away for free if you purchased a 1070 or 80 minus shipping on the website a few weeks ago.
I'd say it depends on what kind of PC you have, chances are you probably would benefit more from a G Sync monitor that's not 144hz
144hz won't do anything to help tearing, and might even make it worse depending on how many frames you're getting
So it depends really on what games you are planning on playing/how many frames you can get in said games.
If it was up to me, I'd personally go with a G Sync monitor in your situation
You can read up some more on it, search for something like 144hz screen tearing and see what you think
